The Daily Show correspondent and humorist Hasan Minhaj will make his theatrical debut in Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King off-Broadway. Directed by Greg Walloch, the production will play a limited engagement at the Cherry Lane Theatre October 15 through November 15, with opening night set for October 23.
Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King, the story of the "New Brown America," is based on true events from Minhaj's first generation Indian-American experience. Navigating between two worlds, it follows Minhaj's arrival in the U.S., meeting his estranged sister, interracial love, racism, bullying, and his family's quest to achieve the elusive American Dream.
The production will feature scenic design by Sara C. Walsh, lighting design by Sarah Lurie and costume design by Kristen Buckels.
And never fear! Minhaj will continue as a correspondent on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah when it returns September 28 on Comedy Central.
Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King will run in repertory with Colin Quinn: The New York Story.
